Arrange parent-directed transportation for school visits, family weekends, performances, campus events, airport connections and boarding-school break travel throughout the DMV and beyond.
Families choose private chauffeured transportation for different school-related trips: visiting a campus, attending a performance or athletic event, bringing a student to or from an airport, coordinating a boarding-school break, or moving parents and guests between a residence and school event. DC Black Cars plans passenger rides for families and authorized school or household coordinators; the parent or guardian remains responsible for the student and the school’s rules.
A request may include a parent, student, siblings, visiting relatives and luggage. Share the passenger count, ages when relevant, adult coordinator, full addresses, school entrance, event schedule, baggage and the pickup or release contact. For a group arrival, list each family and vehicle assignment rather than relying on a single passenger total.
This is private chauffeured transportation, not a school bus, student supervision, childcare, chaperone or unaccompanied-minor program. A responsible adult must arrange permissions, supervision and handoff requirements. The family or institution confirms school access, visitor procedures and the approved passenger pickup point.
Parents may need transportation for an admissions visit, parent conference, graduation, concert, debate, athletic event, fundraiser or school-hosted reception. Include the date, event start, required arrival, school entrance, authorized host contact and expected release. Event instructions can differ from normal visitor parking, and the school controls access and loading rules.
For a student performance or game, plan pickup and return separately if the release time may change. A defined hourly service window or scheduled return may be requested, subject to availability and confirmed terms. The school or adult coordinator should keep a reachable contact available in case a gate, venue entrance or release location changes.
If parents, relatives or guests are traveling from hotels or airports, list the pickup addresses and whether everyone should arrive together. When a group needs multiple vehicles, state how passengers are divided and who will coordinate each departure. Do not assume that an event ticket, school invitation or vehicle reservation grants access to campus or a restricted parking area.
Boarding-school families may request a ride between a home, campus, hotel, train station or airport for scheduled breaks and family visits. Provide the school calendar date, student or family contact, adult responsible at each end, luggage count, pickup release instructions and airline details when applicable. The parent or guardian must verify the student’s release authorization and travel permissions with the school.
Airport transfers may connect to DCA, IAD, BWI or another requested airport. Send the operating flight, passenger contact, baggage count, destination and approved pickup point. Airport arrivals include a 30-minute grace period, except at FBOs. FBO waiting terms are confirmed separately; no grace period applies to FBO pickups.
Longer trips between the DMV and a school in another state may be reviewed with the full route, travel date, stops, overnight needs, passenger count and luggage. Route length, driver schedule and vehicle availability must be confirmed. For college visits and university family travel, see our separate university and family transportation page.
Choose a vehicle based on actual passengers and luggage, not seat count alone. A sedan or SUV may fit a small family; a Sprinter, minibus or motorcoach may be requested when a larger group and its baggage fit the confirmed vehicle and access plan. List instrument cases, sports gear, presentation materials, mobility equipment or other bulky items when requesting service.
For multiple family members or staggered school schedules, provide a clear passenger manifest, pickup sequence, adult coordinator and return plan. Separate cars may be appropriate when a parent has a different schedule, a student must arrive by a separate time, or guest drop-offs are at different addresses. School loading areas and vehicle dimensions should be checked with the school before service.
Families can request direct transfers, multi-stop itineraries or a defined hourly window. Waiting, return times and route changes are not assumed; provide them in the request so availability can be reviewed. Any update to a student’s pickup authorization or release contact must come from the responsible adult and comply with the school’s policies.
Provide the school or campus name and address, date, entrance, required arrival, passenger and adult coordinator contacts, luggage, vehicle preference, pickup or release authorization and return instructions. For an airport trip, include the airline and flight number. For an event, include a host or school contact and any current instructions for guest vehicles.
When a parent, family office or school administrator arranges the ride, identify who may receive trip updates and who can approve changes. Keep student travel details limited to the authorized adults and the transportation team. DC Black Cars does not take custody of a student or independently verify a school release; the family and institution manage those responsibilities.
Requests are reviewed for passenger needs, route, vehicle access and timing before confirmation. We serve trips throughout Washington DC, Northern Virginia, Maryland and requested interstate destinations. Use the transportation request form or call 202-972-0003 to plan a date-specific family itinerary.
