Northwest Stadium — Current Home

Northwest Stadium (formerly FedEx Field) is located at 1600 Ring Road in Landover, Prince George's County, Maryland — directly off the Capital Beltway (I-495) at Exit 15A. The stadium seats approximately 65,000 for NFL games and is accessible from DC via I-295 East or I-95/I-495 East. Game day traffic on I-495 eastbound and the local Landover Road corridor can be severe. Professional car service with a chauffeur who knows the approach routing is materially better than managing game day traffic in a personal vehicle.

The stadium has large surface parking lots, but leaving after a game — particularly a sellout or a nationally televised evening game — involves extended waits in parking lots before vehicles can exit. DC Black Cars drops at designated locations near the stadium and coordinates post-game pickup at pre-arranged staging areas when the group is ready to leave rather than when traffic allows.

Future RFK Campus Stadium Plans

The Commanders and the District are advancing plans for a future stadium and mixed-use development on the RFK Campus. Design, capacity, construction, access, and opening information remain subject to official approvals and project updates.

Commanders corporate suite holders are some of the most consistent and high-value car service users in the DC sports market. Suite packages typically include 8 to 20 guests per game — the exact size for a DC Black Cars Sprinter program. Suite holders from McLean, Bethesda, Tysons, and downtown DC use professional car service for the full game day experience: pickup from the office or home, tailgate pre-game if desired, game-day VIP entrance, and post-game return without parking lot logistics.

Current Venue and RFK Project Planning

For 2026 home games, the Commanders list Northwest Stadium as the home venue. The team also has a future stadium project at the former RFK Stadium site in Washington, with construction anticipated to begin in spring 2027 and completion targeted for spring 2030. These are planning targets and may change. Keep each reservation tied to the venue named for the specific game or event, and recheck organizer instructions before travel.

As the RFK campus project advances, demand may extend beyond game-day passenger transfers to premium hospitality, executive suites, sponsor events, construction and vendor visits, workforce movements and year-round programming. Each use case will require its own access authority, loading plan and service schedule. Do not assume future curbs, parking, staging zones or entry procedures from concept material; use current operator instructions once issued.

Added Trip Planning — Separate Today’s Venue Trip From Future Stadium Planning

Game and event transportation should use the venue and access instructions that apply to the specific event date. Confirm the event location shown on the ticket, current gate and drop-off guidance, any rideshare or charter restrictions and the permitted passenger loading area. Stadium projects and future venue plans can change over time; do not use a proposed future site, opening date or unconfirmed access design to plan a current trip. The event organizer and venue provide the controlling instructions.

For a group arriving from Washington, Maryland or Virginia, select a consolidation point and vehicle assignment before departure. Tailgate equipment, coolers, mobility devices and luggage affect vehicle choice and may not be accepted in every configuration. A Sprinter or coach also needs a verified route, turning space, staging permission and a passenger unloading plan. Never assume that a vehicle can remain parked near the venue throughout an event.

Set a Post-Event Meeting Point

After a game, pedestrian crowds, road controls and rideshare traffic may make the original arrival curb unusable. Agree on a specific pickup location and a backup with the trip lead before entering the venue. Have all passengers keep their phones available and identify who can approve a revised pickup time. If attendees leave at different times or return to different homes, assign separate vehicles or a clearly sequenced drop plan.

When the itinerary starts or ends at an airport, provide the operating flight, passenger mobile, baggage and required terminal arrival. Airport arrivals include a 30-minute grace period, except at FBOs; FBO waiting terms are separate. A confirmed reservation identifies the accepted service and vehicle; requests and changes remain subject to confirmation.

Additional Group Planning — Coordinate Tailgate Equipment and Accessibility

Before game day, list any cooler, folding chair, garment bag, mobility device or other equipment that will travel. Venue policies may restrict items, and the transportation provider cannot determine what the event will admit. The passenger or organizer should verify venue rules and give the driver only the items accepted for transport. A mobility request should include boarding assistance needs and the most accessible approved passenger point identified by the venue.

If a group uses a coach, minibus or multiple Sprinters, confirm staging, turning, loading and return access with the venue or event organizer. A vehicle that can seat the group may still be unsuitable for the approved route or staging area. Send the final passenger count and equipment plan early enough for review.
